Hire Deposits, Late Fees and Penalties

Place Over Ears charges a small, refundable deposit for every pair of noise cancelling headphones you rent. You will see these hire deposits in your basket. Each deposit is deductable if you return the headphones late, you lose their accessories, or if you cosmetically degrade them (if you excessively soil or deface the headphones).

Hire Deposit

For each pair of headphones you hire we add a hire deposit to your shopping basket. Your hire deposit(s) are refunded to you when Place Over Ears receives your headphones back in the condition they were originally hired to you in.

Missing Items

We deduct these penalties if your returned headphones are missing

  • Hard carry cases – £15
  • Soft carry pouches – £10
  • Leads – £8
  • Adaptors – £8
  • Instruction manuals – £8

Late Fees

Hired headphones should be posted back the first working day after your last day of hire. We will send you a pre-paid returns label ahead of this date, so that you may make the suitable arrangements to return your hired headphones.

For each day headphones are delayed in their return, we will charge daily hire fees, which are equal to our standard daily hire rate which is the daily equivalent of hiring the headphones for four days.

Accidental Loss, Irreparable Damage or Theft of Hire Headphones

We strongly advise that you arrange suitable cover for any personal effects whilst hiring our headphones, because if you lose, irreparably damage, or fall victim to theft, we will ask you to reimburse us for the loss of our headphones up to the calculated retail value that remains in the headphones at the time of their loss.

If the potential for accidental loss or theft of hired headphones concerns you, you may take purchase a Damage Theft Waiver when you place your order. Please note that our Damage Theft Waiver is not an insurance product and is not available to trade or corporate customers who are hiring our headphones for use by others.
