How To Hire Headphones – A Quick Guide

Booking Headphones

It’s simple. If you see headphones that you would like to hire just submit the enquiry form that accompanies it. We’ll just need a few details about your rental dates, delivery postcode, etc. and within 24-36 hours we’ll email you a quote. From there if you decide (and we agree) to hire the headsets, we’ll arrange your order for you.

On each product’s page you’ll see a guide rental price for a typical hire of 2 days, but we also offer discounted headphone rentals lasting up to 90 days.

VAT isn’t applicable to any hire prices you see on Place Over Ears, the price you see is the price you pay, nothing more.

Hire Customers Outside of the UK

If you are an international customer who wishes to hire headphones from us, please contact us and we will organise a quote for you.

Nice and Clean

We thoroughly clean our headphones after each hire and re-pack them fresh for their next adventure. Learn more about our headphone hygiene.

Delivery (UK)

UK deliveries take place the working day before the first day of rentals. Our carrier is Parcelforce and we will notify you when your consignment has begun its journey with a tracking number.

There is no set delivery fee as every order consignment is different. However, our quoted prices are determined by the following.

Collection (UK)

UK customers, after your hire ends we’ll email you to arrange the collection of your headphones. We use Parcelforce 48 Express and we can either;

• Email you a return label for you to print
• We can ask the driver to bring the label

Before the driver calls;

1. Carefully pack up all items, accessories using the bubblewrap provided
2. Security seal your tote(s) with the push-in security tags provided
3. Affix your collection label (if you have printed it)

There is no set collection fee as every order consignment is different. However, our quoted collection prices are determined by the following.

You can hire a wide range of headphones from Place Over Ears including Silent Disco, Wireless Conference and Active Noise-Cancelling Headphones.

Late Returns

Late return fees are chargeable if the hired equipment does not begin its journey back to us on the working day that follows your last day of hire.

For each day that the kit is delayed in return we will charge a daily late return fee. This charge is the equivalent of a daily hire fee for a hire period that would last 4 days. We’ll continue to charge this late penalty for up to 21 days of delay in return.

So that you don’t miss your hire return date, we make these 3 communication commitments to you;

1. That we will state clearly on your rental invoice the start and end dates of your rental
2. State on our website, clearly during your shopping visit, the estimated date that the equipment should start its return to us or the date it will be collected from you
3. Communicate clearly on your order confirmation email, the estimated date that the equipment should start its return to us or the date it will be collected from you

For any non-Place Over Ears branded kit;

• The price we paid for the headphones less any discretionary amounts we agree
• Plus, an administration charge of £15.00 to re-order a replacement product(s)

For Place Over Ears branded equipment;

With this in mind, if you’re working or travelling with our hire headphones, it’s well worth arranging suitable event or personal insurance for any potential loss or theft.

Other Charges

Missing or Damaged Accessories

If the headphones accessories (cases, cables, adaptors, etc.) are missing or damaged. To replace these accessories, we charge;

• Hard carry cases – £22.00
• Soft carry pouches – £18.00
• Leads – £10.00
• Adaptors – £10.00
• Instruction manuals – £10.00

Equipment Soiling

Light soiling will be cleaned free of charge and is part of our hygiene standards.

However, if the headphones are excessively stained (food, liquids, etc.) and its performance has not been affected, as a minimum we will charge a standard £15.00 cleaning charge.

If the item has been damaged by excessive soiling and or wear and tear (beyond what could be considered reasonable), the item may be identified as irreparably damaged and we may seek reimbursement for the loss of the product or any replacement parts, as well as an administration fee of £15.00.

Rental Deposits

We request a small, refundable deposit for each piece of equipment you rent from us. You can see these amounts in your shopping basket, and we don’t charge your payment method for these deposits at the time of your order.

Deposits are chargeable if you;

1. Return the hire headphones and their accessories later than we agreed
2. If you fail to return the kit’s accessories, manuals, etc.
3. If you return the audio equipment with cosmetic damage, or if it is heavily soiled.
